The song My Piece of the City is dedicated to an incredible group of people at the Regent Park School of Music who have been empowering young people with music since 1999.
The song speaks about the love and commitment that Regent Park residents have for their community and about the anxiety and loss that people are feeling as their homes are being torn down to make way for the 'new' Regent Park.
My Piece of the City is composed by Daniels' President Mitchell Cohen and features Canada's first lady of jazz, Jackie Richardson on vocals, Joe Sealy on piano and the Regent Park School of Music Children's Choir.
The Daniels Corporation is donating this song to the Regent Park School of Music, who are using it as a fundraising tool to support their remarkable programs. When you purchase My Piece of the City, your donation gives young people the kind of opportunity that changes lives.
For a minimum donation of $10.00 you will be able to download the musical tribute My Piece of the city. All proceeds go to The Regent Park School of Music. Donate today! Give generously.
The Regent Park School of Music was founded in 1999 with the hopes, dreams and determination to teach music to inner city children. This non-profit community music school provides young people with an opportunity to study music, build confidence, develop good study habits and experience positive mentoring. Today, there are over 275 students enrolled in the school, with a waiting list of 250 more. Regent Park School of Music depends on private donations to continue bringing the gift of music to young people from Regent Park and beyond.
